Members usually bring their own craft projects to work on but occasionally we arrange a group project or taster session.
Making for Charity encourage you to help Macmillan Cancer Support by creating syringe driver bags, personal effects bags and ring pouches for use by those receiving chemotherapy or palliative care. Our session produced four syringe driver bags, nine personal affects bags and one ring pouch. These we donated to the Palliative Care Team at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

In February 2017 some of the group made drawstring bags to hold baby care packs (wipes, cream, nappies etc.) for a community project called High Wycombe Helping Others. Volunteers take donations and package them into containers and ship them directly over to where aid is needed. All of the donations go directly to those who need it.
At the end of 2017 three of our members, Louise, Jan and Belinda, test knitted a kit for the homelessness charity The Wallich. The kit was to make a beanie hat and was called the One Knit Wonder. This went on sale in John Lewis, Cardiff and sold out before Christmas raising £12,600 for the charity. Louise and Belinda made it on to the "Ball of Fame" with Belinda representing Sew Cardiff. Jan was happy to stay out of the limelight though her hands did make it onto Twitter.
